Catherine Grcevic

Loving mother of Andrew Grcevic; devoted daughter of the late John and the late Ana Vrdoljak.

Catherine was born in Zagreb Croatia where she lived with her Mom and Dad; her Dad fought in World World II and was listed as Missing In Action; at this same time of the war, she and her Mom were both displaced to live in Austria and migrated to America in 1950. They arrived at Boston Harbor and were selected to live with a family in Michigan; they were then brought to Chicago by cousins who were residents of the Bridgeport community.

Catherine graduated from St Jerome grammar school and St Mary of Perpetual Help high school; after high school, she began her career at Seneca Petroleum where she worked for over 40 years full time, then retired and continued working part time at the same company for another 10 years - she was truly the glue that kept the company together.

She was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport and a faithful parishioner of St Jerome Croatian Church, where she became a choir member - both of which provided her long-time and valued friendships; she enjoyed watching all types of movies with "An Affair To Remember" at the top of the list; she loved reading books and spending quality time with friends and family, and dedicated her life to her son Andrew.

Catherine made a lasting impression on all who she met and will be truly missed.

Visitation Tuesday 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at St. Jerome Croatian Church 2823 S. Princeton Ave. (Chicago) Mass 11 A.M. Interment St. Mary Cemetery.
