Christine Catizone Obituary

Beloved wife of the late Angelo Robert “Harpo” Catizone. Loving mother of Ralph (Jill) Catizone and Mary Rose (Grant) Varveris. Devoted Mama to Marisa, Michael, and Dominic. Beloved daughter of the late Ralph Senese and the late Carmella (nee Tarantino) Senese. Fond aunt, cousin and godmother to many.

She put smiles in the hearts and fed the souls of every life she touched. Her greatest joy was her family, but her love extended far beyond them. She was always quick to be at the side of a friend in need, offering a helping hand, a plate of cookies, or simply a smile and a listening ear.

She was famous for her meatballs and lemon-knot biscuittis. Attempted by many, but never duplicated! Her kitchen was a place of love, laughter, and plenty of food, and she took great pride in keeping family traditions alive, especially cooking for the masses during the annual St. Rocco’s Parade.

An avid Bingo player, she especially enjoyed Friday nights playing Bingo with Dad. She also loved playing the Lotto. She would always choose special numbers—birthdays, anniversaries, and other meaningful dates—believing perhaps that luck would finally find her. As much as she loved playing, however, she never did win!

She and Dad never missed an opportunity to be out on the dance floor at family and community functions. Together, they shared countless memories, laughter, music, and a love that was evident to everyone around them. A giant piece of her heart broke when we lost Dad six years ago, and we find comfort now knowing they are finally reunited, dancing together once again.

A part-time snowbird, she enjoyed spending time in Indian Shores, Florida. She enjoyed evenings at the dog track, nickel poker nights, and, most of all, opening her home to friends and family for dinner. However, she always made sure to return home in time to make sopresetta, another cherished tradition that brought family and friends together.

Her warmth, generosity, humor, love of family, and all the little traditions that made life special will be deeply missed. She leaves behind a legacy of family, friendship, tradition, laughter, and countless memories that will continue to bring smiles to the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She was a proud member of the O.N.I.A.C. Women’s Alliance and Club Maria S.S. Incoronata.
