D. Susan, a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, passed away leaving behind a legacy as bold, vibrant, and unforgettable as the life she lived. A devoted Chicago White Sox fan through and through, Susan wore her loyalty proudly and never missed a chance to share her opinions—whether about baseball or anything else on her mind.
Susan was the beloved daughter of the late John Renkar Sr. and the late Dorothy (nee Guzdziol), and the cherished sister of John (Linda) Renkar. She carried a deep love and admiration for her older brother who preceded her in death, holding his memory close to her heart throughout her life. She also shared a special bond with her beloved cousin, Gary Guzdziol.
Often describing herself with humor as a “cheap pollock,” Susan’s sharp wit and fearless personality were unforgettable. She did not follow a traditional path in school, yet she possessed remarkable intelligence and determination—teaching herself anything she set her mind to and researching tirelessly until she became an expert.
Known for her quick comebacks and unapologetic honesty, Susan “called it like she saw it,” never shying away from speaking her truth—no matter who, what, where, or when. Her words could be tough, but they were always real, and they were always matched—if not surpassed—by the depth of her love for those around her.
Susan lived life entirely on her own terms. She found joy in traveling, especially cruises, and loved the thrill of gambling. Rarely without her Lip Smackers Jumbo Strawberry lip gloss and known for her ever-present Kool cigarettes, she embraced her routines with a sense of humor and authenticity that made her truly one of a kind.
Above all, Susan was devoted to her family—both those she was born into and those she chose along the way. She was a proud and loving Buscia to Francesca, Dante, Dominic, Evelyn, Ellasandra, Biaggia, Enzo, Giada, Gianluca, Patrick, Deminica, Sofia, Luciano, and Freddie II, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Susan’s presence was larger than life, her love immeasurable, and her absence deeply felt. Her place in the hearts of those who loved her will never be filled. She will be forever remembered, deeply missed, and always cherished.
Niech odpoczywa w pokoju wiecznym. Wieczny odpoczynek racz jej dać, Panie, a światłość wiekuista niechaj jej świeci. Niech odpoczywa w pokoju. Amen.
(May she rest in eternal peace. Grant her eternal rest, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.)
