George J. Tadin "G.T."

Devoted son of the late Anthony and the late Mary (nee Bertucci) Tadin; dear brother of Michael (Lee) Tadin, Debra (the late Mile) Kodzoman, Cheryl (the late Annette Appell) and Thomas (Deborah) Tadin; fond uncle of Michael (Natalie),Christina, Bianca (Jason), Leigh, Carolyn (Ryan), Anthony (Krystle), Chelsea and Catherine; cherished great-uncle of Michael, Miles, Nico, Leo, Jack, Charlie, Avery, Marco and Enzo. 

George’s life was defined by a simple, powerful truth: to him, there was no such thing as a stranger, only a friend he hadn’t made yet.

With an infectious warmth, an easy smile, and a genuinely outgoing nature, George possessed a rare gift for making anyone in his presence feel seen, valued, and welcome. Whether sitting across the table from a lifelong buddy or striking up a conversation with someone in line at the grocery store, he approached every person with an open heart and an eager willingness to listen.

His friendliness was matched only by his deep generosity and kind-hearted spirit. George gave freely of his time, his energy, and his resources, never expecting anything in return. He was the kind of person who would drop everything to lend a helping hand, offer a word of encouragement when it was needed most, or simply share a good laugh to brighten someone’s day. His kindness wasn't just a trait; it was his way of life.

George was a dedicated employee of Marina Cartage for 38 years and a proud member of Local 705 IBT.

George leaves behind a legacy of love, connection, and community. Though he will be deeply missed, the warmth he brought into the world will continue to live on in the countless lives he touched.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27th, from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Michael Coletta Sons Funeral Home, 544 W. 31st St., Chicago. Visitation Monday, September 28th, from 8:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M., followed by procession to St. Jerome Croatian Catholic Church, 2823 S. Princeton Ave., Chicago, for Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park.
