Jesus Ramirez

Beloved husband of Adulfa "Licha" Alicia; loving father of Jesus H. "Jesse" (Mirian), Olga (Adolfo), Araceli "Sally" (Russ), and Robert "Bobby" Ramirez; beloved son of the late Hipolito and Maria Ramirez; fond grandfather of Sydney, Hayley, and Alex; dear brother of Manuel, Francisco, Justina, Isabel, Ascencion, Concepcion, Maria De la Paz, Juan, Leticia, Francisco, and Maria Guadalupe; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. 

Jesus Ramirez was a family man in every sense and his dedication started early. Without a dad at home, he and his brothers took on head of household responsibilities.  As a boy in Mexico, he’d sweep sidewalks in exchange for day old bread - anything to feed his mom and siblings who many times went without.  
As a young man in El Paso, he found work as a mechanic. In 1958, he married, started his own family and a search for a better life.  Two years later, he followed his older brother Pepé, to Chicago. It’s here he began what would be his lifelong career as a tool and die maker. On modest earnings with a humble home, he raised four children; no credit cards, no loans, just honest, hard work to pay for our upbringing and eduction. We were his world. There is NOTHING he wouldn’t have done for us, even after we became full grown adults. Starting out, he endured and overcame hardships and discrimination, yet our father’s strong will and determination to raise a good family persevered. Our dad’s story is our story. He instilled the morals, values and strong work ethic that live in each of us. Dad, Papá - we are your living legacy. We promise to always help and look out for each other, just as you taught us. Te extrañamos, te queremos y siempre vivirás en nuestros corazones.
