Kelly Vajgert Obituary

Kelly Joseph Vajgert, 54, of Chicago, IL was born December 3rd, 1970, and passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2025. He followed his cherished sister, Cynthia Coyle, by mere hours to join their mother Lois Darlene Vajgert in the afterlife for a heavenly hand of gin rummy.

Kelly is survived by his sons Anthony Vajgert (Chyna) and Christian Vajgert; his brothers Jeffrey Vajgert and Christopher Vajgert; and his nephew and best bud since 1985, Edward "Punky" Vasquez (Erika), as well as many other friends and family members impacted by Kelly's loss.

Kelly loved to fix and tinker, with a sharp eye for mechanics and maps, passing down his knowledge to his sons from his days as a truck driver and furniture deliveryman across Chicago. He worked hard and hustled every day, sparing no expense for those he loved, whether in times of need or times of celebration. Kelly had a big heart. He would go to any length to provide for his family and friends, and his happiest moments were spent surrounded by loved ones, laughter, hilarious stories and delicious food.

Although he may be gone from this world, Kelly leaves behind a legacy of hard work, determination, and ingenuity. His lessons of bold inventiveness, brazen generosity, and unapologetic exuberance for a good time will be remembered with fondness for generations.

Let's pour a 2-liter out for Uncle Kel, and celebrate his life the way he lived it...where the only silence...is  the J in Vajgert.
