Salerno, Lucille (née Gurgone), age 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Devoted wife of the late Pasquale “Patsy” Salerno; cherished daughter of the late Catherine (the late James) Gurgone; beloved sister of the late Michael (Rose) Gurgone and the late James Gurgone Jr.; dear sister‑in‑law of Roseann Gurgone and the late Frances (Tony) Fratto ; adored mother of Nicholas, Maryann (Jim) Distasio, Jennie (Jack) O’Connell, and Dominic; loving grandmother of Michael (Carly) O’Connell, Jimmy (Kathy) Distasio, Megan (Jim) Larouere, Nick (Alison) Distasio, and Catherine (Adam) Lester; beloved and treasured great‑grandmother to Jack, Shane, Joe, Tony, Nico, Kaitlyn, Lena, Dylan, Will, Emma, Dominic, and Lucy; dear aunt, cousin, godmother, and friend of many.
Lucille was a devoted member and Auxiliary Women’s President of the Santa Maria Incoronata Club. She was also a proud member of the Old Neighborhood Italian American Club’s Women’s Alliance. Santa Lucia Altar Rosary Society.

Visitation will be held on Thursday March 19th from 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Michael Coletta Sons 544 W. 31st St. (Chicago) Chapel Prayers Friday at 9:15 A.M. Procession to St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish 218 W. Alexander St. (Chicago) for Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 A.M. Interment St. Mary Cemetery.
