Luis Alvarez Obituary

Beloved son of Frances and the late Alberto Alvarez; dear brother of Martha Alvarez Flores and Rose (Sterling IV) Carrington; cherished uncle of Michael Albert Flores, Karisa Frances Flores (Billy Stubbs), Sterling V (Taylor) Carrington, Lauren Marie Carrington-Gallegos (Jorge Gallegos), Katlyn Frances Carrington, Sofia Flores, Michael Stubbs, Alisa Stubbs, and Sterling VI Carrington, Theresa Soria Senior, Theresa (Chris) Soria, Carlos Soria (Sergio Del Nodal), John (Laura) Soria, Jessie Soria, and Linda (Ernesto) Alvarez, Lourdes, Sophia Alvarez, Quinn Soria, and Ruth (Benito) Meza.

Luis was a standout athlete in high school, excelling in football, baseball, and basketball. His natural talent and grit made him a leader on every field he stepped onto. Later in life, he passed on his love for sports to the next generation, coaching and mentoring the family's young softball and baseball players. A die- hard Bears and Notre Dame fan, he watched every game, cheering on his team no matter the outcome.

He was a Marine Corps Reservist, and whenever he shouted "Oorah!" you could feel the pride he had in being a Marine.

Humor was Luis' first language. His sharp wit and impeccable timing would leave you in tears. His generosity, with his time and affection, knew no bounds. He mafe you feel—seen, valued, and loved.

It's been said that, "what we have once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Luis will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him and his love will remain with us always.

Rest in peace, dear son, brother, uncle and friend. Oorah!
