Moses M. “Mo” Zepeda, Ret CPD, age 87, passed away January 13, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Margaret, nee Rubino; loving father of Steven (Phyllis), Richard and the late Deborah and Lisa Zepeda; cherished grandfather of Amanda (Daniel) Cosentino and Nicholas Zepeda; proud great grandfather of Mia, Gianna and Daniel Jr.; devoted son of the late Moises and Irene Zepeda; dear brother of Frank (Connie) Zepeda; fond uncle of many.
Mo dedicated a significant part of his life to serving as a police officer for the Chicago Police Department. He began his career on March 6, 1962, and served with dedication until his retirement on July 30, 2001. His commitment to his community and his work was evident throughout his years of service.
Beyond his professional life, Mo was a man of diverse interests. He had a profound love for baking and cooking, often delighting friends and family with his culinary creations. He found joy in daily Crossword puzzles, which not only challenged his mind but also provided a source of entertainment. In the summer months, he cherished tending to his garden, nurturing his plants with care and dedication.
A visitation will be held Saturday, January 17th, from 12:00 noon until time of Funeral Service at 5:30 p.m. at Michael Coletta Sons Funeral Home, 544 W. 31st St., Chicago. Interment will be private at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park.
