Rosaria (Speciale) Pratapas

Rosaria “Sally” Pratapas, nee Speciale, age 94, passed away peacefully at her home in Whispering Pines, NC on June 17, 2023.  Beloved wife of the late John A. CPD for 54 years; loving mother of John M. (Rosaleen), Rosanne (Carl) Jordan, Steven (Patty), Linda (Len) Kunkel, Anthony (Carrie), Mary Ret. CPD (the late Brian) Panick, Phillip (Charlotte), Michael (Nicole) and Christopher (Kimberly);  cherished grandmother of 26 and great grandmother of 18; devoted daughter of the late Antonio and Rosaria Speciale; preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Sally was raised on Chicago’s northside and after marrying John, raised her family in the Bridgeport neighborhood where she lived for 60 years before moving to Whispering Pines, NC.  She served as a Eucharistic minister and Past President of Nativity of Our Lord Altar and Rosary Society.

Visitation Monday, June 26th, 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of Our Lord and St. Gabriel Parish, 653 W. 37th St., Chicago.  Interment to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.  The Mass will be livestreamed.  Click Here to View Livestream
