Age 88, died peacefully on January 15, 2022. Salvatore was born in Chicago to the late James and the late Nellie (nee Gallo) Dispensa on November 23, 1933, proudly growing up in the "Gallo House" on 24th Street. Loving older brother of the late Mariano "Mario" (the late Diane) Dispensa, and the late Marie Joyce Sherry (the late Timmy) Rocco. Brother-in-law of Rally Sherry. Dearest uncle of Lisa, Thomas, and Anthony (Cathy) Rocco, Laura Dispensa (Thomas) Howard and Jimm (Ana Vargas) Dispensa. Greatest great uncle of Tyler and Mario Howard, Morgan (Matthew) Munizzi, Anthony (Hannah) Rocco, Alex Rocco, Owen and Faris Dispensa. Salvatore is also remembered by aunts, cousins, neighbors, friends, fellow teachers and past students. Proud Alumnus of: Santa Maria Incoronata Grammar School, De LaSalle High School, University of Illinois, and the University of Colorado. Salvatore served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. Salvatore was a proud High School Typing Teacher for 34 years teaching at Joliet Central High School and Joliet Catholic High School. He will be remembered as a devoted Chicago White Sox fan his entire life and dog lover especially to his dogs Sparky & Socks. Salvatore's wishes for his interment was to be cremated and buried with his brother and sister at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum.
