Shi Jun (Joe) Mei

Passed peacefully, surrounded by family. Beloved husband of Xiao Ling Mei; loving father of Kathy, Karen, and Kevin; devoted son of Gang Huan Mei and Lian Cui Mei; dear brother of Jane Mei, Yan Yun Mei, Yan E Mei, and Judy Yuan Mei; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; cherished by countless friends and clients.

Joe was the epitome of the American Dream. In his 20s he left China for Chicago, earned a cosmetology license, and opened his own hair salon. Every long day behind the chair had a purpose: giving his children opportunities he never had and creating a welcoming space for his clients. With his easy smile, patient ear, and well-timed jokes, he turned a simple haircut into a moment of connection and made every person feel like family.

Joe will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, humor, patience, and the joy he brought to everyone who crossed his path.

Joe 堪称“美国梦”的典范。二十出头时，他离开中国前往芝加哥，在那里考取了美容美发执照，并创办了自己的发廊。他在理发椅后日复一日的辛勤工作，都有一个目的：为子女创造他年轻时未曾拥有的机会，也为顾客营造一个温馨、亲切的地方。凭借亲切的笑容、耐心的倾听以及恰到好处的幽默感，他将一次简单的理发，变成一段充满人情味的交流，让每一位与他结缘的人都感受到真诚的关怀与重视。

Joe 的慷慨、善良、幽默与耐心，以及他带给身边每一个人的快乐，将令我们深切怀念并永远铭记。
