Yuk Chun Cheng Lau passed away on December 4, 2023 at the age of 69. She was a caring wife of the late Kin Hong Lau, loving mother to Connie (Joe) Wong, Annie (Antonio) Villadolid, and Rickey (Zara) Lau, and beloved grandmother to Misha, Sadie, Benjamin, and Nina. As a wonderful sister, niece, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend to many, she spent her life providing and caring for her family, and enjoyed spending time with her friends. She was smart, generous, and diligent, which allowed her to support her family and opened many opportunities for her children. She retired early to help raise her grandchildren and traveled with her friends. After her cancer diagnosis in 2022, she fought extremely hard for over 15 months and lived her life to the fullest. With the support of her family and friends, she enjoyed good food, created great memories, traveled internationally, shared stories, challenged many in mahjong, and had an abundance of laughter. She was a great role model and always selfless. No amount of years spent with her will ever be enough and she will be missed dearly by all of us. Please join us in the celebration of our mother’s life. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to these two organizations that have helped our mom during her fight against cancer:
Edward Foundation for her care at Edward hospital in Naperville, IL Edward Foundation
University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation for the clinical trial that gave our mom so much hope and relief for a period of time. University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation
